It's been great to get out on the mountain bike again now that all the trails and tracks are clear of snow. Today on one of my rides I enjoyed watching and listening to the male skylarks. Their amazingly long and complex song is a joy to hear and they climb higher and higher above the ground while singing trying to impress a female below and outdo any other males watching.

A lot of the ospreys are also sitting on eggs now and the males will soon have to be catching more and more fish each day to feed the mother and new brood. A detour on one of my walks or rides to the Rothiemurchus fish farm is a must to catch them fishing for trout.

Still haven't heard the first cuckoo though. I'll let you know when!!

I'm still doing some ski instructing on Cairngorm now and then for the ski school but it's getting very quiet now, the snow's going to be up there into July but the lifts will probably stop spinning in mid May.

Well it looks like Spring is finally here in the Cairngorms. There is still lots of snow on the high peaks which makes for a truly special scenic panorama everywhere you look. I've had a great Winter working as a Ski Instructor on Cairngorm Mountain and had fun meeting lots of visitors to the Aviemore area who were keen to learn or develop their skiing.

Now I'm ready for the Summer and looking forward to TREKnTRAIL providing memorable walking and biking experiences in this fantastic environment. I hope you find something in my website that motivates you to get up here and enjoy the outdoors and even better if you want me to take you to some of my favourite places!

Hope to see you soon - Paul
